Wide Temperature
Operating temperature normally means the temperature at which an electrical or mechanical device operates. The device would operate effectively within a specified temperature range which may vary depending on the device functionality and the application context, and then range from the the minimum operating temperature to the maximum operating temperature (or the peak operating temperature). Outside this range of safe operating temperatures the device may fail. Industrial devices generally operate over a broader temperature range than commercial-grade devices.
Normal operating temperature ranges are affected by several factors, such as the power dissipation of the device. These factors are used to define a "threshold temperature" of a device, which means the maximum normal operating temperature, and the maximum operating temperature beyond which the device will no longer be able to perform as effectively as it would otherwise. Between these two temperatures, the device will operate at a non-peak level. For instance, a resistor may have a threshold temperature of 70°C and a maximum temperature of 155°C, between which it exhibits a thermal derating.
The extent of the operating temperature also translates into reliability engineering. To overcome demanding temperature environments, Litemax offers industrial solutions with Wide Temperature from T1 to T3: T1: -20°C~+70°C / T2: -40°C~+70°C / T3: -40°C~+85°C
Ranges from T1 to T3 help put system designers and customers at ease that any “Made by Litemax” device is suitable for its designated vertical application, and will withstand the environmental conditions in which it is utilized.
